Pangasinan, Philippines – Amid the scorching heat of summer, Mirsamad Pourseyedi Golakhour of Iran's Azad University finished a smooth sailing stage with a time of three hours 37 minutes and 12 seconds covering the entire 151.20 kilometers.

The 25-year old cyclist came first in the finish line leaving the remaining 62 riders behind in split millisecond. Although his body is used to his home country's cold weather during April, Pourseyedi Golakhour says that the humid weather was not a hindrance at all.

He has been a professional cyclist for seven years now. In his latest competition prior to the LTdF 2011 Stage 3 win, the  five-foot seven-inch Iranian was included in the overall top 20 of Le Tour de Langkawi Malaysia.

Asking about his readiness for Stage 4, Pourseyedi Golakhour says that there is “no problem for tomorrow”.

Seeing the Philippine trail

A native of Tabriz, Iran, Pourseyedi Golakhour managed to win on the third leg of Le Tour de Filipinas 2011. Being a first timer in the Philippines, he already explored the countryside windowing the seas, ponds, rice fields, and mountains along the circuit.

Other victorious cyclists include Cris Joven of American Vinyl (3:37:12) and Ericsson Obosa of 7-Eleven (3:38:09), second and third respectively.

Pangasinan Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. is proud of the victory of  second placer Ericsson Obosa since he is a native of Manaoag.

Unwanted occurrence

In the middle of the Stage 3 trail, Azad University's support vehicle crashed in a residential backyard. Incident report claimed that two children suddenly crossed the street creating confusion to the driver which led him to crash on the fence.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident.

Trailing to the last stage

For Stage 4, cyclists will climb through the trench of summer capital Baguio City from Lingayen, Pangasinan. They will run for a total of 112.5 kilometers to reach the Stage 4 finish line located in Burnham Park Lake Drive.

Meanwhile, Zambales Governor Hermogenes Ebdane, Jr. expressed his delight in having Le Tour de Filipinas 2011 pass through his province. He looks forward in welcoming the tour once more.
